Katharina Block (Current Project Coordinator)


Katharina Block is an Assistant Professor at the University of Amsterdam. She earned her PhD in Social Psychology at the University of British Columbia (Canada) in 2020 and subsequently became a post-doc at NYU. In 2021, she joined the University of Amsterdam. Her research focuses on how implicit and explicit stereotypes and norms surrounding gender shape young adults’s (and children’s) self-concepts, and in turn their interest in science & technology vs. care-oriented (HEED) careers.

Maria Olsson


I am an Associate Professor at Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences. I earned my PhD at UiT – The Arctic University of Norway. I currently pursue research on the Influence of Gender Incongruent Role Models on Gender Development, Cross-national Differences in Men’s Engagement with Communal Roles and Cross-national Differences on Gender Differences in Prosocial Behaviour.

Toni Schmader


Toni Schmader holds the Canada Research Chair in Social Psychology at the University of British Columbia and is the Director of the Engendering Success in STEM Consortium. Her research seeks to understand the ways in which stereotypes and social identities constrain choices and performance of those who are targeted by them.

Colette Van Laar


Colette van Laar is Full Professor of Social Psychology at the Center for Social & Cultural Psychology, University of Leuven (KU Leuven, Belgium). She conducts research on social identity and stigma, examining social psychological processes that transfer negative group stereotypes into lower participation and outcomes in education, work and on the domestic front.

Dr. Sarah E. Martiny is Full Professor in Social and Community Psychology at UiT The Arctic University of Norway. Her main research interests are in the area of social identity and intergroup relations including topics such as migration and gender

Loes Meeussen


Dr. Loes Meeussen is a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Social & Cultural Psychology, University of Leuven (KU Leuven, Belgium) and Lecturer At Thomas More University Antwerp. She conducts research on cultural and gender identities and stereotypes and examines the influence of social norms on men and women’s work-family balance.

Carolin Schuster is Assistant Professor of Applied Social Psychology at the Leuphana University Lüneburg. She mainly conducts research on the effects of salient identities, stereotypes, and values on motivation and interpersonal interaction.

Sanne Van Grootel


Sanne Van Grootel earned her PhD at the Center for Social & Cultural Psychology, University of Leuven (KU Leuven, Belgium). She conducts research on male engagement in communal HEED roles and what factors limit and drive interest, intent and motivation.
